Hyperhidrosis Treatment
Overactive sweat glands can be an embarrassing problem for both men and women. It also becomes an issue when it disrupts your daily activities, such as the clothes you wear and your ability to do your job. At Skinvie, we use injections to treat hyperhidrosis and we place a huge emphasis on patient safety. These injections are a natural, purified protein that blocks the nerves responsible for activating the sweat glands. This procedure will always be carried out by a medical professional, such as Dr Anna Puri.

The Procedure
Following your hyperhidrosis consultation, the procedure involves a simple assessment by Dr Anna who will identify the most appropriate sites to treat. A series of small injections with a fine needle is then used, which significantly decreases sweat production. Results last 4-6 months. Fortunately, the injections are very small so the discomfort is minimal. The procedure only takes 40 minutes and once the treatment has been administered, you will then be able to carry on with your normal daily activities.

The Results
The results will become effective immediately and usually last between 4-6 months. Due to the nature of this treatment, you will be able to resume normal activities as soon as it’s completed.
Aftercare
Avoid deodorants or perfumed products for 12-24 hours
Avoid tight clothing in those areas (to reduce irritation) for 12-24 hours
What Are The Risks?
There is a risk you may experience some pain, redness and/or itching where the injections have been administered, this is usually minimal and will pass within 12 hours. Some other areas of your body may sweat more after the injections to make up for the reduction in sweating at your armpits; this is called compensatory sweating and usually resolves within 4 months but can be combated with antiperspirants. It is highly uncommon but some people may experience muscle pain or muscle weakness following the treatment.
What Areas Can Be Treated?
At Skinvie, we offer this treatment to both armpits, to assist in the reduction of hyperhidrosis. We understand how much of an impact this can have on your lifestyle and we are proud to offer these treatments with your safety and comfort at the forefront.
How Does It Work?
Injections are a treatment for focal hyperhidrosis, a condition that causes excessive sweating in certain areas of the body. These injections work by blocking the nerves that stimulate the sweat glands, thus reducing sweat production and improving your quality of life. This substance is a safe and effective method but it does not cure hyperhidrosis. The effects of the injections do last for several months, however, we recommend follow-up treatments to maintain the best possible results.
